Leaves of 1979 New York

I created the first piece with leaves from a box I found in my grandma's house marked “Leaves of 1979 New York”. Seeing that she had kept them for all these years I decided to make this piece so everyone can see the beauty in them that she did. It was only fitting to make the leaves into an arrangement, since my grandma was an ikebana teacher (japanese flower arrangement) with a vase displaying our family crest. Since then I have been inspired to create a series.
